Discover the artists of the NEWART collection
The NEWART collection has been built over more than two decades through sustained, thoughtful and professional work dedicated to contemporary and technological art. Since 2006, a key part of its growth has been linked to the ARCO-BEEP Electronic Art Award — now NEWARTaward@ARCO —, an acquisition award developed in collaboration with ARCOmadrid that has enabled the incorporation of representative works from the leading international trends in digital art and new media.
The award has involved juries made up of highly respected specialists, ensuring rigorous artistic and curatorial criteria in the acquisitions. At the same time, the collection has also grown through in-house productions, collaborations and research processes promoted by the foundation.
Today, the collection brings together more than 150 works spanning over 50 years of technological art history, integrating practices related to artificial intelligence, robotics, generative software, light, sound and immersive and interactive experiences.
The NEWART collection also stands out for its diversity and representativeness, bringing together emerging and established artists from different contexts and cultures, with approaches ranging from conceptual and poetic proposals to critical works on the relationship between technology, society and culture.
Beyond conservation, the collection acts as an active platform for production, research and dissemination, fostering dialogue between artists, institutions and audiences and contributing to a deeper understanding of contemporary technological art.
