Expanded Eye, 2008
About the artwork
Expanded Eye is a suspended light sculpture projecting the visitor’s own eye. A system detects blinking and multiplies the image into hexagonal structures, evoking insects’ compound vision. The project was developed at Interactivos 2008 at Medialab Prado with Jacqueline Steck, Álvaro Cassinelli, Carles Gutiérrez and Oswald Aspilla Pérez.

Neuronnection. 2021
About the artwork
Neuronnection connects a brain interface with a parametric light sculpture. Using the NextMind device, the participant’s visual attention towards Neurotags activates light movements, proposing an experience of perception and interaction. Team: In_generic, Antonio Mechas, VPMAP, Inertia, Ana Correa and Agustín Cervai. The work received a production and exhibition grant from Institut Ramon Llull, UOC, La Caldera, NEWART Foundation and Hangar for Ars Electronica Garden Barcelona 2021.

Career and projects
Anaisa Franco studied visual arts, digital art and technology, and advanced architecture at institutions including FAAP, the University of Plymouth and IAAC. She develops interactive installations and public art that expand sensory experience through interfaces and sculptures. She has worked in contexts including Medialab Prado, Hangar, Taipei Artist Village, VIVID Sydney and EXPERIMENTA Melbourne. Expanded Eye received the sixth ARCO-BEEP Electronic Art Award.
