About the exhibition

View of Elena Asins. Fragments of Memory, the most comprehensive exhibition devoted to the artist, presented by the Museo Reina Sofía in Madrid from June to October 2011. Curated by Manuel Borja-Villel, it began in 1968, a decisive year in her career, and followed her work through to her most recent pieces, spanning drawing, sculpture, video and installation. It included the complete Combinaciones series (1980), 33 works from the museum’s collection, and videos with music by Gorka Alda. In 2017 the show travelled, as Fragments of Memory II, to the Museo de las Artes of the Universidad de Guadalajara (Mexico), during the Guadalajara International Book Fair.
