Art and quantum physics intersect at El Born for the Biennal Ciutat i Ciència 2025

A El Born, Museum of History of Barcelona eight art installations were exhibited, seeking to bring the public closer to the central theme of the City and Science Biennial of this year: quantum physics. This theory, often perceived as one of the most abstract and complicated to understand, has more to do with our day to day than we think. Without going very far, without quantum, today we would not have computers, internet or mobile phones.

"Urbetrònica" a work featured among the highlights of the City and Science Biennial, alongside two works from the NEWART Foundation. The 2025 edition will focus on the quantum revolution and will take place from 18 to 23 November at the Born, Barcelona History Museum.

"Urbetrònica II" the Artist 's Marie - France Veyrat was exhibited for twenty-five years at the entrance of the computer company of the sector, being the emblematic work of the BEEP Collection of Electronic Art. It is currently hung at the entrance of the NAC, the NEWART Centre of Reus.

It is an architectural construction describing the chaotic contemporary city. Its shapes suggest buildings whose full composition becomes visible from above. We encounter the urban world in action: that space-time governed by technology and human advances, which we can only fully grasp in its raw dimension through its deceptive failure. This once again reinforces the relationship between space, society and the people who live there.
