Forms – Screen Ensemble, 2020
About the artwork
Forms – Screen Ensemble is a generative visual-music system that creates graphic scores and immediately turns them into sound. Three screens take the roles of rhythm, harmony and texture, composing changing audiovisual landscapes through chance, probability and Markov chains. Combining generative graphics with sonification and spectral-synthesis algorithms, the project makes it possible to hear what is seen. Its format can expand into concerts, immersive installations or software.
It received a production and exhibition grant from Institut Ramon Llull, NEWART Foundation and Hangar for Ars Electronica Garden Barcelona 2020.
