About the artwork

These electronic sculptures respond to the viewer’s presence and movement. Shadows, changes in brightness and small air currents become gradual variations in sonic or luminous rhythm. Their visual form is closely linked to their function and the effects they produce.

Artistic career: José Antonio Orts

Career and projects

José Antonio Orts connects electronics, musical composition and artistic experimentation. His sculptures use electronic components and, in some works, ambient energy collected through solar cells. Changes in light, air and presence activate variations in sound or illumination. His work makes the viewer a participant in a dialogue between body and artwork. His international career includes Rome, Paris, Berlin and Valencia, and he received the fifth Cañada Blanch Foundation Award for Trío de gotas de luz.
