A total of 27 teachers have participated in this final day, which has allowed them to discover the educational possibilities of digital and technological art and learn about the NEWART Centre project.
This training introduced audiovisual language, from the origins of cinema to contemporary video art, through the viewing and analysis of audiovisual works. Participants explored the expressive resources of early cinema and their evolution towards contemporary artistic practices such as video art, with particular emphasis on the ability of audiovisual media to create an imaginary world, experiment with images and construct visual narratives.
During the session, teachers visited the collection and explored different approaches to classroom work through images, movement, light, technology and artistic experimentation. The visit provided an introduction to the connections between the origins of the moving image, kinetic art, video art and contemporary artistic practices.
The training also introduced the workshops in NEWART Centre's educational programme. Teachers discovered how these activities use technology as a tool for experimentation, creation and discovery. The workshops emphasise the process and invite students to investigate, try things out, make mistakes and make decisions. This approach helps them understand the creative processes of the artists in the collection and bring them into the classroom through practical, participatory experiences.
The day has also served to present the educational proposals that NEWART Centre is preparing for the coming course. These activities are aimed at primary, secondary, high school and professional training centers and connect artistic education with STEAM disciplines.
The closing of the training in NEWART Centre has been an opportunity to share experiences with teachers, meet the needs of educational centers and create new links with the teaching community of the territory. NEWART Centre will continue to promote training, experimentation and exchange spaces that approach the technological art in the classrooms and encourage new collaborations with educational centers.
